Sand Harbor
Swim beside rounded granite, walk the Sand Point Nature Trail, or reserve a paddle when rentals are operating. Busy-season vehicle entry can require a reservation; check State Parks alerts before leaving Incline.

Things to do
Swim and paddle at Sand Harbor, follow the East Shore Trail from Tunnel Creek, climb toward Tahoe Meadows, or ski above Incline Village at Diamond Peak. Each choice belongs to a different season and part of the Nevada shore.
Swim beside rounded granite, walk the Sand Point Nature Trail, or reserve a paddle when rentals are operating. Busy-season vehicle entry can require a reservation; check State Parks alerts before leaving Incline.
Walk or bike from Tunnel Creek toward Sand Harbor on a paved, exposed shoreline path. Expect highway noise in places, carry sun protection, and confirm the desired turnaround distance from the current trail map.
Diamond Peak is closest to Incline and gives many winter runs a direct lake view. The ski area closes its lifts, facilities, and services in the off-season; public hike-and-bike access does not mean the resort is operating.
Hidden Beach, Memorial Point, and Highway 28 overlooks can extend an East Shore day. Stop only in designated areas; narrow shoulders and full lots make an improvised roadside stop a poor choice.
Zephyr Cove departures serve Emerald Bay cruises and other bookable lake trips, but they require a substantial drive from Incline. Keep the departure city visible when comparing tours.
For smoke, wind, snow, or thunderstorms, replace the exposed lake outing with an Incline meal, spa visit, or short drive confirmed against live road and air-quality reports.
Beyond the signature beach
The Nevada shore changes quickly with elevation. Tunnel Creek begins beside Highway 28, Tahoe Meadows sits high on the Mt. Rose corridor, and Diamond Peak climbs immediately above Incline Village. A second outing should show a different part of that terrain rather than repeat the beach day.
Start at Tunnel Creek and turn around on the East Shore Trail according to the distance, heat, and wind that day. Memorial Point and Hidden Beach add marked shoreline stops, but neither justifies unsafe parking on Highway 28.
Drive the Mt. Rose corridor toward Tahoe Meadows for forest and open high-country terrain. This is a separate mountain outing, not a quick extension of Sand Harbor; check road, fire, and forest alerts before leaving the lake.
Diamond Peak is the local ski choice because its slopes rise above Incline Village. Confirm lifts, terrain, and road controls on the day of the visit. In summer the resort has no operating lifts, facilities, or guest services.
During its published summer season, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival turns Sand Harbor’s amphitheater into a nighttime attraction. Treat the performance as a ticketed event with its own arrival instructions, not as an add-on to a full beach day.
Above Incline Village
The Mt. Rose corridor climbs quickly from Incline toward meadow walks, forest trails, and broad basin views. Summer and fall bring an entirely different landscape from the lakefront. Snow, fire restrictions, and temporary forest orders can change access, so use current agency and road reports before driving uphill.

Bookable experiences
These commercial trips may depart from different parts of the basin. Check the departure town, season, and return time before adding one to an Incline Village stay.
