Getting here

Getting to Incline Village

Reno-Tahoe International is the nearest major airport for Incline Village. Drivers approach from Reno over the Mt. Rose corridor or from California around the North Shore; weather, construction, and chain controls can change the final route.

Reno-Tahoe International

Reno-Tahoe International is the nearest major airport for an Incline stay. Rental cars give the most flexibility, but winter arrivals should check Nevada road conditions before choosing the Mt. Rose Highway approach.

Sacramento and Bay Area

Sacramento can offer a better fare or fit a California road trip, but the Sierra crossing is longer and vulnerable to winter controls. Bay Area drivers usually reach the North Shore from Interstate 80; confirm the current route before crossing the mountains.

Winter road check

Check Nevada 511 and Caltrans QuickMap before departure. Chain rules, crashes, wind, and snow can affect both the Reno approach and California crossings. Carry what the current restriction requires; an all-wheel-drive reservation is not a substitute for a live check.

Sand Harbor access

Reserve the vehicle day, then check transit and park alerts

Busy-season vehicle entry uses the live Reserve Nevada system. Highway 28 parking is limited, and roadside improvisation is not a substitute for a park reservation. The seasonal East Shore Express can link Tunnel Creek and Sand Harbor, but current Tahoe Transportation District alerts warn that operator shortages may cause delays, suspensions, or cancellations.
